What social injustice will OAG fight next? It's up to you(th).
Youth Are the Change
April 2011
At the end of March, OAG recieved a letter in the mail that we have been courting for an entire year. This letter told us that we were now federally recognized as a 501c(3) non-profit organization. In other words, the IRS agrees with us: youth can organize themselves sucessfully. This is a victory for all of the young folks who have been in touch with OAG up to this day, and those who will be in the future. Even better, this is a testament to the potenital and power of youth everywhere. Of course, non-profit organizations have dilemmas too. The best way to grow is always from the grassroots.
Our Wine'n & Cheese'n & Summer House Party fundraisers were a huge success! Thank you to everyone for their support!
Research, Leaders, and the Board, oh my! February 2011
There are a whole bunch of new happenings at OAG right now. The Executive Board recently welcomed two new members, and said farewell to a long-time ally. Our young leaders program has evolved, with five new OAG fellowships. Also, we've recieved applications for two new research projects, on public education outcomes, and child trafficking. We're so proud to see youth stepping up to educate themselves and their communities.
We made it way easier to get involved with OAG and fight back against social injustice. To compliment this, young artist Allie put together some super-hot art. Check it out at the new... Get Involved page.
